In my last post I shared a recipe for Kani Salad
& told you that you could make your own Yum Yum sauce
….here’s how:
A quick back-story on this recipe:
For my birthday the year that Dustin & I got married
he contacted all of the women in our families
& asked them to share their favorite recipes.
He then combined them all into a cookbook
which he so cleverly named “Lovin’ From The Oven”
with the advice “the smoke alarm is not a timer”.
It’s one of my most treasured gifts,
filled with all of my favorite recipes,
some handwritten by the women
who mean the most to me.
But not only did Dustin want me to have
all of their favorite recipes….
he wanted me to have his too
(how convenient 😉 )
At the top of his list was this recipe for Yum Yum sauce
with the sound advice
“Add this sauce to everything you cook and you will never have to worry about your food tasting bad.”
Thanks sweetheart…..
Yum Yum Sauce
- 1 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 tsp tomato paste
- 1 tbsp melted butter
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1/4 tsp paprika
- dash cayenne pepper
Mix all ingredients together until thoroughly combined.
Refrigerate overnight to allow flavors to blend.
*sauce will not taste right if it doesn’t set up overnight or if you try to substitute ketchup for tomato paste*
