Over the last couple of years I have spent so much of my time on this blog.
It may seem as simple as writing a little snippet and throwing some pictures in,
but it’s so much more than that.
First I had to teach myself how to even create a blog (thank you Court Tuttle).
Then I had to figure out how to fix all of the problems I created….
I’m still working on this because I create new problems every day.
Then comes the fun part: writing about my life and sharing it with all of you guys.
A blog post may seem simple, but it can be very time consuming.
It starts with an idea, then actually implementing the idea.
Then I spend hours writing and editing, and photographing and editing, and testing recipes and editing.
There’s a lot of editing!
(and sometimes hair pulling, and crying, and most certainly lots of coffee)
Some days it feels like I take 2 steps forward and 10 steps back.
It’s probably because the only computer skills I really had before this
included emails and Facebook.
But I’m learning every day!
I think one of the biggest surprises for me was how expensive blogging can be.
You have to buy a domain, pay a host, pay a security company to fight hackers,
and then pay another company to salvage your blog when
those hackers succeed in getting in and shutting your site down.
(This is where the hair pulling and crying come into play)
The costs can add up quickly.
So in an effort to pay some of my blogging bills,
I have created a few ways that you can help support Homegrown Hopes!
Homegrown Hopes Shop
The easiest way is to visit our Shop.
This is the place where we share all of our favorite gardening,
homesteading, and household items that keep our lives running day-to-day.
Whenever you add these items to your cart, you will be
redirected to my Amazon Affiliate account.
The beauty of this is that you can buy anything on Amazon for the next 24 hours
and I get commission without any extra cost for you.
My commission is usually only a few cents to a couple of bucks depending on what you buy,
but every little bit helps!
Plus, you get the guarantee of Amazon security to protect your information.
Advertise
Another way that you can support my little corner of the internet here is to advertise with me.
If you are a business owner or fellow blogger, I would love to share your information
by placing your ad on my sidebar.
I can proudly say that this blog receives thousands of views each month,
so advertising your business here is a great way to increase traffic for you,
plus it helps me out a little with my blogging expenses…win, win!!
If you’d like more information on Homegrown Hopes
and how you can become involved with and support this blog
I would love to talk to you!
Just fill out a contact form and I will get back with you shortly!
I really, really love this blog.
It’s my passion to share our journey with you
and I have connected with so many interesting people along the way.
It has been amazing for me to see this little blog evolve over time
and I’m so thankful for all of you who follow, read, and share my posts.
You truly are supporting me in following my dreams!

I SO feel you on blogging being a larger expense than anyone would assume – off to check out your shop now 🙂
Caitlin
It’s amazing how quickly the costs add up. Thanks for visiting!
Collette
Definitely something to consider once I get more established! Will be checking out the rest of your blog!

Thank you Collette!
Essential Homestead
I just experienced some of that crying and pulling my hair out a few weeks ago. 🙂

It can be so frustrating when you feel like you’re moving forward only to find that you created a bigger problem!
