My time is precious.
Especially with a little man to chase around.
Some days I can barely find the time to brush my hair.
{Don’t judge, I run my fingers thru it.
Besides, the ratty messy look is in…Right?}
Even though there are
too few hours in the day,
I still want my home to look festive for Halloween.
Like the lady inside really has her stuff together.
Since the first thing people see is my door,
I thought that would be the perfect place to start.
I didn’t want to spend much,
so I tried to work with materials I had on hand.
-masking tape
-styrofoam plates
-black paint
-crepe paper streamer
(my only purchase for a whopping $1)
My little helper ripped (and ate) the streamer for me.
Then I just taped them along the top of the door.
I painted a black circle on the plates & taped them to the door as eyeballs.
The mouth & eyebrows are masking tape.
The whole thing barely took 10 minutes
& that’s because we played while we worked !
You could give your door a Dracula or Frankenstein makeover
if you’re sticking to the monster theme.
A pumpkin or spider could be cute too.
If your door color doesn’t allow the look you want,
you could add brown paper or even solid colored wrapping paper.
The possibilities are endless!
What are some shoestring ways that you have decorated for Halloween??
