If you remember my first post of the year,
then you know that I had a lengthy list of goals for this 2015.
Well, with big plans comes big stress.
So, yesterday I finally took a step to help relieve some of it
& tried something that I’ve been wanting to for a long time,
I attended my first ever yoga class!
I went in thinking that I would do some crazy pretzel poses
& breathing exercises (& probably look pretty wobbly doing it all).
But what I got out of the class was so much more than that.
Not only did it help me to relax, but I also felt like I had a pretty decent workout!
From the moment I walked in the door I felt welcome.
I tried the Kripalu Vinyasa class &
was amazed that I was able to focus throughout the entire session.
This is coming from a gal who tosses & turns for hours on end
wrestling with the ever-increasing to-do list in her mind.
I can’t remember the last time I wasn’t thinking ahead to my next task,
but during my class I was totally in the present.
It’s no wonder why yoga is becoming increasingly popular among medical professionals.
In fact, research has proven it to be beneficial in such conditions as:
immuno-disorders, heart disease, diabetes, obesity,
to inflammation-based illness and neurological conditions.
